A decision is finally near for the future of a swath of land in Narragansett pegged for the development of 53 single-family homes despite the fact it contains unprecedented amounts of American Indian artifacts, some dating back to the 13th century. At the conclusion of the final public hearing on Monday night for developer Churchill and Banks (formerly Downing Corp.), a four-person state Coastal Resources Management Council subcommittee set dates for the submission of post-hearing memoranda, which would allow a recommendation to be made.
