The American Indian College Fund (the fund) spent an evening in New York City May 18 celebrating donors and friends in the tri-state area.

There was a cocktail reception, Native American art auction, and a screening of the fund’s advertising campaigns produced with Wieden+Kennedy, an advertising firm based in Portland, Oregon.

Some of the attendees became bleary eyed after watching some of the moving and thought provoking advertisements.

“It makes me realize just how many young people never get the chance to further their education, the fund does so much,” said Susan Miller, of Manhattan.

David Kennedy, founder of Wieden+Kennedy, was honored and received an honorary blanket from the fund's President Richard Williams.

Entertainment for the evening was provided by Martha Redbone and traditional flute and drumming from Yasti Richardson.
