A motorcycle rental shop won't be relocating downtown. The tribal council voted early this month to deny an appeal by Eagle Rider Motorcycle to move its Harley-Davidson rental shop from a location near Interstate 10 to a vacant gas station at Ramon Road and Indian Canyon Drive. It upheld an earlier city council decision that denied owner Don Swedo's relocation plan. Residents and business owners said it would be too noisy and create a poor image for the city. Behind closed doors, the tribal council voted 4-0 to deny a conditional-use permit for the shop, which is on tribal land. 'It just didn't seem like a good place for the requested use,'' Tribal Chairman Richard Milanovich said. Swedo was out of town and couldn't be reached for comment.
