At the close of the 8th Annual White House Tribal Nations Conference (WHTNC) last week in Washington DC, several Native Youth and leaders shared lighthearted fun and inspiration with ICTMN.
The White House Tribal Nations Conference is the result of the promise President Barack Obama made during a visit to the Crow Nation in May 2008 to host an annual summit with tribal leaders to ensure tribal leaders a seat at the proverbial governmental table.
This year’s conference is the final of Obama’s presidency, and considering the country looks ahead to a Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump administration, youth and leaders alike shared their thoughts on what it is going to take to maintain a forward trajectory for Indian Country
Here are four great videos highlighting these thoughts after last week’s WHTNC. There is also one bonus video of a hilarious moment with Barack Obama, who was speaking with tribal leaders and youth. Enjoy!
Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians Chairman Mic Isham Jr. shared his thoughts about Obama and a Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump effect on tribal nations.
