The North American Indigenous Games Council (NAIG) has announced that Regina, Saskatchewan will be hosting the 2014 North American Indigenous Games.
The three stage bid process ended with Host Candidate Cities from Regina, Saskatchewan, Halifax, Nova Scotia and London Ontario making their final presentations to the NAIG Council in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada.
"We are extremely proud and honoured to be selected to host the 2014 North American Indigenous Games," said Federation of Saskatchewan Indians Nations Vice Chief Morley Watson in a press release. "The real winners will be our young Indigenous athletes from across North America.
The Regina Bid Committee included representatives from the Federation of Saskatchewan Indians Nations, the Province of Saskatchewan, the City of Regina, the Metis Nation of Saskatchewan, and the University of Regina.
