10/31/08 - Obama campaign hosts Grandmother Day in Shiprock


American Indian voters can help determine next week's presidential election, Wizipan Garriott, First Americans vote director for the Barack Obama campaign, told a group of grandmothers Thursday. Garriott, a registered member of the Rosebud Sioux tribe in South Dakota, hosted Navajo Grandmothers Who Vote Day at the Shiprock Obama Office to encourage the elderly members of the Navajo tribe to get out and vote.
