10/23/08 - Blackfeet want Cut Bank assault charged as felony

The Blackfeet Tribal Business Council demanded on Wednesday that Glacier County Attorney Larry Epstein charge three brothers with a felony under Montana's hate crimes statute. On Sunday, the Tribune reported that Todd, Brian and Aaron Molenda had been charged with misdemeanor assault for allegedly knocking Glacier County Commissioner Ron Rides at the Door to the ground Sept. 20 and kicking him repeatedly while calling him a "dirty Indian." His wife, Michelle Rides at the Door, and a bystander, Dale Guardipee, were also allegedly knocked down when they tried to intervene.
