10/06/08 - Grocery store to be built on Rosebud Reservation

A tribal grocery store is being built on the Rosebud Sioux Indian Reservation at Mission. The store, which will employ about 80 people, will include a delicatessen, bakery and pharmacy. Tribal leaders say the grocery should be open by mid-December. The store is being built, in part, with a $1 million economic development grant from Minnesota's Shakopee (SHAHK'-uh-pee) Mdewakanton (mid-ah-WAHK'-tuhn) Sioux Tribe.
