10/03/08 - 6th annual Black Indian Pow Wow

Opening ceremonies begin at 2 p.m. today, but that’s just the start of two days of events during the sixth annual Black Indian Pow Wow in Enid. Today’s grand entry is 7 p.m., but an educational summit about ethnic Indian issues is 8 a.m. to noon today at Southern Heights Community Organization, 451 E. State. Saturday night’s grand entry also is 7 p.m. Events planned over the two-day period will include crafts and games held both days, ethnic food concessions and a traditional meal at 5 p.m. both days, said Barbara Finley, director of Southern Heights Cultural Center and Museum and the pow wow.
