The Association of American Indian Physicians is again offering eight, $1,000 mini-grants to AAIP program affiliates to support innovative, culurally sensitive community intervention activities related to Native Americans and diabetes education and prevention.
AAIP encourages grantees to author proposals that conduct mini-grant activities during the month of November, which is National Diabetes Awareness Month and National Native American Heritage Month.
Applications will be accepted through Sept. 30. Grantee activities must be completed by February 2010. All grantees must disseminate the National Diabetes Education Program materials. A final report of grantee activities is due Feb. 26, 2010. All applications received in AAIP’s office by 5 p.m. CST Sept. 30 will be reviewed and considered. Review the Frequently Asked Questions on the Diabetes mini-grant Web site prior to filling out the application.
